Classrooms One of my favorite photos because it brings back so many memories. It is also one of the few remaining structures from our days. A walkway on the far left (not visible) leads to an identical set of classrooms on the other side. Horse shoe configuaration was built around '64 or '65. 'Had English with Mrs. Edminster somewhere on the second floor.
Indoor Basketball Court
Inside the Original Auditorium I performed as one of the Three Kings in a Christmas pagent back in the mid-60's in this very same room. Even sang a solo. My mother was so proud. Mike Sessions was the second King for a Day. (I can't remember the third member of that talented ensemble.)
Auditorium During the mid-60's when it was built, it had only one level. It is now being used for summer storage. The second story is the elementary school library.
Theater Situated on the site of the old Patino house and former administration building. The oldtimers will remember the Patino "hacienda" as the place-to-be for many a Friday/Saturday night dance. Remember the pine hedge that surrounded it and the balconies?
Tennis Court (Yep, that's OUR field in the back)
ACS Field Where we ate lunch, played softball and soccer and who can't remember PE with former Marine Senor Karpovics?! Semper Fi.
Entrance to ACS, Calacoto Welcome to a long overdue voyage down memory lane. All photos were taken on June 1, 2001 by your host, rk. Special thanks to Hugo Villegas, ACS Superintendent Dennis Sheehan, and Barbara Raaf-Wolfe for helping make this such a terrific day. The school as you can see has become something very special. State-of-the-art everything including indoor pool, tennis courts, gym, computer center, sports complex, you name it. As I told Superintendent Sheehan, OUR "sports complex" in the mid-1960's consisted of the softball/soccer field and a few bats and balls. Things have definately changed.
